Older Beginners & Early Intermediate Students
Middle School, High School, and Adult Students
It is never too late to start music lessons. Because older students are able to form goals more easily, I plan these lessons base primarily on each student's individual goals in taking music lessons.
Private Lessons
I offer 30-minute, 45-minute, and 60-minute private lessons for older beginners and early intermediate students. The lesson length is determined on the student's level of practice commitment, lesson goals, and level. A 45-minute lesson is a good starting point for most older students and adults for a more laid-back lesson.
Here is a list of elements that we may cover in lessons, depending on the student's interest:
It is important to find a teacher who suits your individual needs and personality. Contact me directly to schedule an interview lesson to determine if my studio is a good fit for you.
- Taubman technique- learning to play with effective, efficient, and healthy body movements.
- Music theory- understand how music is structured and works.
- Playing from lead sheets and chord sheets- learn to play from just chords can allow a student to play any song her or she desires. This is a very practical skill for playing in church or any type of band.
- Ear training- learn to play your favorite songs by ear.
- Classical training- learn the skills to play and work towards playing your favorite familiar pieces.
- Composing- learn practical skills to be able to write your own music.
